How I’m Keeping Brat Summer Alive With My Summer Pics

Originally Published Sep 06, 2024Updated Sep 06, 2024

As the dog days of summer slowly come to an end and the smell of pumpkin spice fills the air, I find myself trading my Birkenstock sandals for my Doc Martens … fall is here! For better or for worse, this summer has been a whirlwind of trends and events, whether you were team #BratSummer or #DemureAndMindful.

As we head back into the office or into the dorms, why not keep those Brat Summer vibes going even into autumn?

Why Brat Summer?

Ever since CharliXCX released that chartreuse-colored album filled with anthems of summer 2024 and Tiktok-inspired apple dances, the internet has proclaimed 2024 as a brat summer. Say goodbye to other people’s judgements or those “go with the flow” norms, we’ve been embracing our inner brat by throwing away our bras (or not), showing off our 365 party girl side, and just living life the way we want to!

The opposite of the “clean girl era” that was trending, well, right before brat summer and a contrast of the “demure and mindful” trend that soon followed, brat summer was the epitome of being a woman in 2024, full of contradictions!

How to Keep Brat Summer Alive

For me, brat summer was filled with all sorts of photos on my camera roll. From our couples trip to the Italian countryside and Rome to our annual family cookout for the fourth of July to beach weekends with the girls, it’s safe to say that my iPhone memory notification popped up a few times in August.

My autumn resolution? Keep brat summer alive (or at least the vibes) by keeping all those sun-soaked mems close!

Rotten to the Core: Sorting and Keeping the Best Pictures

Whether you’ve got 600 or 6,000 (or even 60k, you do you!) photos on your phone, it’s time to Marie Kondo your camera roll! Throw on your favorite Spotify playlist and get to sorting, just 5 minutes here and there can make a big difference.

Throw out those blurry moon pictures (let’s be honest, the full moon happens every month, you don’t need all those shots!) and sort through your duplicate selfies to only keep the best ones!

Once your camera roll is looking a little less cluttered, the next steps will only be that much easier!

Green With Envy: Posting the Best Brat Pics

This one is for all the Insta queens out there! Our advice, keep all your #tbt summer throwbacks in a separate phone folder or even in your Instagram drafts to make sure you have all that great content ready to go. And bonus points if you have a note stashed away with a list of potential captions, only the brattiest will do!

Brat Memories in Eyesight

Our added cherry on top, printing out our best memories from these past few months! You know, the thing you always say you’re going to do … but never do! Now’s the time to take 10 minutes (promise you can do it in this time!) and find your favorites on your phone.

Change out that picture sitting on that frame on your desk with a simple 5x7, your 9-5 will go by a lot faster with a picture of you and your man on the beach at sunset! Print out a bunch of 4x6s from your Mamma Mia-inspired Greek adventure and make a DIY vision board for your dorm walls for a cheap and damage-free way to decorate.

Or, go big and go home with one of the bigger prints like a poster or canvas print with that shot from your summer, that one picture you can look at for hours on end - whether it be the view from your 5-hour hike, the whole fam reunited together, your best friend’s wedding, or even a that reaaaaally good gelato you ate 4 times on the Amalfi Coast, no judgement here.

Print ‘em Out!

With Picta, once you’ve selected and uploaded your favorite brat summer pictures in the appropriate formats and sizes, all that’s left is to hit print (and pick them up of course). The good news is that there is a Walgreens nearby to print your photos and the even better news is that your photos are ready the same day! Yes, you heard us right, same-day pickup means that even not even last-minute inspiration can keep you from your photos!

And then it’s up to you to keep the brat vibes going even into the cozy (and somewhat demure) autumn months, the memories printed out will definitely help! 💚
