Did you manage to throw an epic birthday party for your kid? Did you embrace your mom-boss era and slay all day? We know you did, give yourself some credit! We hope this afternoon was filled with big bowls of candy, endless laughter, memorable activities, and a majestic cake! All this fun, love, and good vibes couldn’t have happened without the lovely guests who made sure the afternoon was unique and memorable for your little one. And do you know what they deserve? A big ol’ thank you! If you want to thank them properly, we have the perfect solution: send a lovely customized photo thank you card! If the concept is a bit fuzzy, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve designed a little guide for you to become a queen of birthday thank you cards!
A Few Rules to Show Those Thank You Cards Who’s the Boss 👸🏻
Rule #1: Pick The Right Pic! 📷
This might seem obvious but for a customized photo thank you card to be a big success, you need to choose the perfect photo! And by perfect I don’t mean that posed group photo. No, no, no. If you’ve read any of our other birthday pic-focused articles, you’ve probably learned that the best photos will be those who go full-on candid mode! For your thank you card, you want to make sure you choose a shot that features: the birthday star (duh), the recipient of the card to make it as personal and sweet as possible, and a fun special moment! If you haven’t been able to take a pic of your kid with all their guests one by one, do not start panicking, it’s okay! A group pic or one of your little one by themself laughing and enjoying the fun will do just fine as well! This thank you cards moment is supposed to be all fun and good vibes, not an additional source of stress for you super momma!
Rule #2: Write Something Sweet! ✍🏻
If you want to write something special and personal, just follow this three-part rule: thank them for coming to start, mention a special moment of the afternoon in the middle, and wrap it all up with a lovely “can’t wait to see you soon”! This is the foolproof recipe; can’t go wrong with this structure! If your child is old enough, they can absolutely come up with their own ideas and write it all themselves, but, for the little ones for whom writing is a big challenge, having them sign their name will be enough!
Rule #3: Involve Your Kid Even if They’re Tiny! 🧒🏻
We know that the temptation to do everything yourself to make the thank you cards process less time-consuming might be very strong, like VERY STRONG. And we get you busy queens! It’s always so much longer when the kiddos do it themselves, and requires a heavy dose of patience! However, the experience will be so rewarding and fun for you and your little one! You can have them help you pick out the photo and the card design because it’s always better to choose one that they also love! And don’t forget to encourage them to write a little something even if it’s hard for them - a bonus penmanship exercise & a super personal addition!
Rule #4: Thoughtful & Personal! 🫶🏻
The more personal, the better. There is nothing wrong with pre-made thank you cards if you don’t have time and energy to invest in the process, we’re so against mom-shaming here! However, if you feel like making it more special this year, you can add another personal touch to your card - it’s time to be creative! Some examples could be to print out some more pics of the day if you have a couple of great ones or to add a little quote at the bottom of the card that fits the vibe/theme of the party!
